Bald Knob and Turtleback Mountain

Join us for a loop hike to Bald Knob and Turtleback Mountain at Castle in the Clouds.    The hike will be about 8 miles and 1400 feet of elevation gain.   Most of the hike will be on carriage roads, except on the way up we'll go up the Bald Knob cutoff, which is a regular trail and somewhat steep.    We will eat lunch on top of either Bald Knob or Turtleback Mountain.  Please be sure to bring microspikes, as there may be icy parts where they will be necessary.   From trail reports, it doesn't seem like snowshoes will be necessary.   The high will be in the mid 50s on Saturday, so a nice spring day.    We may try to see the waterfalls on the Brook trail either on the way up or the way down.
