The Board of Directors are volunteers who devote a great deal of their time and energy to the organization. This includes finance, organizing activities and social events, trail maintenance, membership growth, communications and social media, maintaining and improving the website, strategic planning, setting policies, and promotions and advertising.
We are always interested in having more sustaining members join one of our committees or our Board of Directors. If you are a sustaining member, would like to ensure the continued success of our group, and want to give back in some way, then consider joining. We periodically have Zoom meetings along with regular email correspondence. If interested, contact us.

Committees You Can Join
Below is a list of our committees. Sustaining members are welcome to get involved with any of them.
Budget & Finance
Reviews monthly bank statements, writes checks, makes deposits/transfers, prepares financial reports to the Board, and prepares taxes.
Programming & Events
Increase active participation by supporting a balanced, predictable, varied, and welcoming calendar of events. Develop and support chapters where sufficient local member leadership exists.
Conservation & Stewardship
Strengthen GayOutdoors' role as a responsible outdoor community by promoting environmental stewardship, conservation awareness, Leave No Trace principles, and respectful use of the natural places where members recreate.
Membership
Grows our guest and sustaining memberships, solicits donations, partners with other organizations, and responds to inquiries and login issues.
Social Media
Communicates with members via Facebook and Instagram — club matters, articles of interest, promoting events, and more.
Newsletter
Communicates with members via our newsletter — club matters, articles of interest, and event promotion.
Website
Maintains and regularly updates the club's website, liaises with our host provider, and makes ongoing improvements.
Strategic Planning
Develops and maintains the club's strategic plan.
Promotions / Advertising
Maintains business-partner discounts, our Google Business page, sponsored ads, brochures, and outreach at Pride events and outdoor expos.
Leadership Development
GayOutdoors should gradually broaden responsibility across more members rather than relying heavily on a small number of individuals. Leadership development should include recruiting new Event Hosts and volunteers, inviting promising members into committee roles, developing additional committee chairs, and preparing future Board members and officers.
