About this event
The approximately 2 mile loop around Benedict Pond in the Beartown State Forest is a gorgeous easy hike that should not be missed. The trail weaves through forests, wetlands, and features numerous beautiful views of the pond. If it is a hot day, there is a beach for swimming after the hike, so bring swimwear and a towel if you want to swim.
PLEASE NOTE: Beartown State Forest charges $8 for parking for MA plates, $30 for out of state plates.
WHAT TO BRING: P?lease bring rain-gear, appropriate footwear (that can get muddy), snacks, water, and also consider bringing hiking poles if you may need them or to lend to someone who may need them. Dogs on leashes are welcome. Please check the weather the morning before the hike so you can make sure you have the right clothing & equipment if conditions change.
If you have trouble finding us, will be late, or can't make it, please call/text Mitch 413-717-7816 or Bart at 503-734-6508.
