The trip report

Written by Helvetic Hiker

I decided to take my chances as the weather seemed to be clearing by late morning. On the way up to the Long Trail, I got caught in a heavy band of rain. This did not help the trail which had quite a few muddy spots. By the time I reached Burnt Rock Mountain, some sunshine had returned which led to taking a few pictures. As I ventured farther to Mount Ethan Allen, the rocks became increasingly slippery and dangerous. I headed back logging a total of 5.7 miles and 2,200 elevation gain. Until next hike.

About this event

Are you looking for a physical challenge? This hike is rated hard on alltrails and not designed for the casual hiker. More narrative can be found here: https://www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/us/vermont/mount-ethan-allen-trail.

We meet at 9:50 for a 10:00 sharp departure.

Bring at least three quarts of water, hat, sunscreen, bug spray and snack as needed. Do not bring Fido as parts of the trails are not friendly to our furry friends.

We'll head out to Waterbury for food and drinks afterwards.

This is a social event. Leave your egocentricity and shyness at home and be ready to engage your fellow hikers. At least four confirmed people needed for the event to proceed.
