The trip report
Written by a member
Had a great hike with Mo and Jim to Osceola East Peak and Mt. Osceola with great weather, although I personally like it a little cooler. Terrific views from the Osceola summit. I'd say we took the tougher route, from the Kancamagus Highway trailhead as opposed to the Tripoli Road trailhead. It was "only" 7 mi round trip but I feel I earned those two new (new to me) 4,000 footers!

About this event
We will hike to both Osceola peaks from the Greeley Pond Trail via the Kancamagus.
During the hike there are fantastic views of Waterville Valley. This is an out & back hike of 3.8 miles one way.
Note: The most challenging part is between the two mountains (it is known as "The Chimney") a rocky steep incline -- but there is a by-pass trail on the side of it to avoid the rocks.
Distance : 7.6 Miles
Estimated Elevation Gain: 3100
Estimated Time (with lunch): 7.5 hours
