The trip report

This hike was mostly down hill and was extended one mile past the campground to a trailhead on the river and connected with a previous hike.
View on this hike were wonderful. The trail was very rocky and rooty much of the way. Near the end of the hike we had a very steep scramble over boulders, which pushed this hike in to the strenuous catagory.
Over three days of hiking there were plenty of mountain laurels blooming, but rhododendrons. On this hie we say two purple blooms.

About this event
This 7 mile north to south hike on the Appalachian Trail should be a moderate one. It will be mostly down hill with a 1700 ft. drop over the course of the 7 miles.
We will start from the parking lot onto a trail carpeted with pine needles. We will see pines, hemlock, sycamore, rhododendron, and mountain laurel on this hike. We should also have some nice views on this hike. The trail will be rocky in sections, making it a moderate hike.
This will be a one-way hike and will require a car shuttle.
