Jeff's Turkey Tramp # 1

Continuing the Turkey Tramp tradition. We will meet at the Trail head located 1/2 mile into Mashamoquet Brook State Park located on Route 44 in Pomfret, CT. This 4 1/2 mile, moderate, dog on leash hike will allow you to crawl into the historic Wolf Den; sit on Indian Chair, where Chief Uncas once sat; take a short water/snack break; visit Stephen Avery's Revolutionary War grave site; get Post Thanksgiving exercise and enjoy good company for a peaceful, fun time. Please meet at 10:30 AM for an 11 AM start.There are no fees at this time.This event is also listed with other groups. We will have an optional late lunch around 2:15 PM at the Vanilla Bean Cafe located at 456 Deerfield Rd., at the intersection of Rt 169, RT 44, & Rt 97.(http://thevanillabeancafe.com).
