The trip report

The Boston Holiday Party starts getting us into the holiday mood. We wanted to send out a note to our fantastic members and extended family within GO. We want to extend our best wishes to everyone during this holiday season!

It's hard to believe that we continue to have the same level of excitement for being with friends in the mountains of New England. We're glad that we can still provide a learning and fun experience to everyone.

We want to give a special thanks to all Trip Leaders who continue to bring unique and fun hiking experiences to the members of this group. Sure, we don't have enough beginner or intermediate hikes. But overall the Trip Leaders have done a superlative job as volunteers to provide you with these activities.

So, again, we want to wish everyone the very best during this Season and hope that you are able to enjoy the holidays with friends and family. Don't forget that the GO still hikes in the Winter Season (a favorite for most of us). Come join us and enjoy the pristine yet cold conditions of Winter!

Happy Holidays

Mike and Jon

About this event

A fun time to jingle with new and familiar friends. Free hot Hors d’Oeuvres, raffle and slide show. You don't have to be a GO member so bring friends!

We've shared some wonderful times hiking/snowshoeing in the mountains, camping, kayaking, swimming, mountain biking, backpacking, skiing...And so much more.  Time for another fun time and relive those fond memories with great friends, delicious food, slide show of this year’s past trips and our trek on the Haute Route in Switzerland, and raffle prizes.

Everyone is invited...you don't have to be a GO member...so bring your friends. It’s our annual holiday party in the Napoleon Room at Club Café. The room will be lit up like a Christmas Tree and filled with holiday cheer! If you're thinking about joining our club, come on by to learn about what GayOutdoors has been up to, meet some really great outdoorzy guys, and watch a slide show of this year's trips. If you're already a member, the Holiday Party is a great way to reconnect with your GO buddies. Bring your friends.

Sign up FAST! LAST YEAR WE ALMOST FILLED UP the Napoleon Room at Club Café and space is limited! This is one event you can't miss!

Pick up a name tag as you enter the room so that everyone knows your name. There will be a couple of cute boys taking drink orders [cash bar] and servicing delicious hot Hors d’Oeuvres. We haven’t finalized this year’s menu just but here is what we served last year to give you an idea: General Tso Chicken Pot Sticker; Spinach, Artichoke & Mozzarella Filo; Vietnamese Herb Shrimp Rolls with sweet & spicy sauce; Feta & Sundried Tomato Filo Roll; Crab Cakes; and Asparagus & Asiago Cheese Filo Wrap.

Later in the evening, we’ll be raffling some great prizes for any Full Member who is present as a thank you for your continued support! To qualify, you must register for this event and appear on the RSVP list.   Prizes include a Frog Meadow  B&B gift certificate for $200 w/breakfast –only good for the winter season, gift cards to Eastern Mountain Sports, GO hats/t-shirts and more! [If you would like to donate something to our raffle, please contact us. We would love to include you!]

Upgrade to a full membership now to be eligible to win all these raffle prizes. We are raising funds for a complete website overhaul and a full membership will help us make that happen!

Good friends, great food, fabulous prizes, FUN slide show! There is no fee for this event. Bring your friends. Only Full Members are eligible to win some awesome raffle prizes!  YOU HAVE TO BE PRESENT TO WIN!!!

After the raffle, we’ll present a spectacular slide show of our Haute Route trek in Switzerland this past summer. Our 125 mile route follows the classic trek across the Swiss Alps starting in Chamonix, France at the base of Mont Blanc, Western Europe’s Highest Peak and concluding in Zermatt, Switzerland at the base of the Matterhorn, the world’s most recognizable and stunningly beautiful peak! The route traverses below the summits of 10 out the 12 highest peaks in the Alps. Each day we ascended formidable mountain passes at 9,500 feet and found ourselves in a wonderland of snow-capped Alps rising out of spectacular valleys, delightful Swiss villages and remote hamlets, flower meadows and fragrant forests, icy streams and majestic glaciers!

So don't delay......sign up today and mark your calendars for the event of the year.   Don't miss the sleigh....... cuz Santa's coming your way.

We’ll wrap up the evening’s presentation with news of our new website [we hope to launch it just before the party], club statistics, and a preview of next year. We have the room until 9pm so there will be plenty more time to socialize afterwards. Some members get together and have dinner at Club Café later on.

It's going to be a very exciting night, we hope you can join us! Our Holiday Party will have something for everyone. Free appetizers, comraderie, good cheer, cash bar, old & new friends, slideshow of this year's past trips and our trek in Switzerland, laughter, and prizes to any full member who is present.

Date: Saturday, December 12th
