The trip report

Our largest crowd ever enjoyed several activities at my home on the Delaware River. We had our largest group of kayakers and several others who tubed down the river. Several others biked the canal trail behind my house going up and through Easton. Thanks to the participants who brought food and drink we enjoyed refreshments all day. Mark July 18, 2015 as the date for next year's event.

About this event

Join us for a relaxing day on the Delaware River. Early arrivals can chose to go tubing if river conditions are calm. We can take eight people at a time 3 miles up river for a 1&1/2 hour tubing trip back to the picnic site. Bring your own life vests if you need one. We also recommend some footware to use while tubing as the river bed can be rocky. You can also make your own arrangements to go kayaking out of Phillipsburg NJ. There is a free boat launch there. You can also rent kayaks from Lazy River Outpost  at www.lazyriveroutpost.com  Bring your bike if you want to ride the canal trail that goes behind my house. It goes 60 miles to Bristol PA  (but no one has gone that far yet).  If you just want to relax, bring your lounge chair and socialize by the river.

We will be grilling hamburgers and all beef hot dogs. We will provide bottled water and some sodas. Bring food to share if you'd like something different. Bringing food is not a requirement but is appreciated.

This year you have the option to visit Weyerbachers brewhouse nearby if you'd like. There you can tour the facilities and taste samples of craft beers brewed on location. Tours on Saturday are at 1, 3, and 5PM. you can get information at www.weyerbacher.com This is not GO sponsored but is provided as a way to enhance your day trip. Easton also has many fine restuarants and you may consider dining in town after our event.
