Harpers Ferry-Loudoun Heights Hike

We'll hike from parking in or near the town up the Appalachian Trail to the Loudoun Heights trail. We'll the proceed along the ridge to a overlook with a great view of the town and the junction of the Shenandoah and Potomac rivers. The hike is 8.5 miles with an 1850 ft elevation change. the expected time on the trail is 5 hrs. Bring water and a lunch. The regular parking lots may be closed if the government is still shut down so we may have to look for parking. We expect the trails to remain accessible.
