The trip report

Fifteen members (and one dog) joined me for one of the most interesting hikes on the east coast. We had beautiful weather and recent rains meant the falls were flush with water. Most of the members were able to stay to enjoy a nice diner outdoors at the Ricketts Glen Hotel. Thanks members for a very nice day outside.

About this event

We hiked Rickett's Glen last fall and learned a few things: First of all that this is an incredible state park! In a 2 to 3 hour hike you get to see 22 waterfalls. If you do the whole trail, it can be strenuous as it's a lot of down and then a lot of up. Good news though for members looking for an easier activity. If we park a car at a certain spot, some participants can do the down hill trail only and return to the lake without having to climb back up. We also realized in August it's warm enough to jump in the pools of water that collect around the falls. I'm always looking to make these activities as fun and comfortable for everyone as possible. Rickett's Glen has modern facilities and showers. Come for just the hike, or stay for swimming and dinner on the way home. We look forward to seeing you and your friends. E-mail me with any concerns and we'll work them out.
