About this event
For probably one of the last really nice weekend days of the fall, what better way to spend it than with a spectacular ridge hike in the beautiful Blue Hills overlooking Boston and the surrounding area. Our walk will cover the most scenic 6 miles of the Skyline Trail in the Blue Hills Reservation, located in Milton, Massachusetts, just to the south of Boston. We'll begin at the trailhead located on Rt. 138, near the Trailside Museum. Nearly right from the start we'll have commanding views from Great Blue Hill, followed by other successive promontories, and with the fall colors at their height, the vistas will be that much better! The approximately 6-mile, moderate-to-strenuous hike will take us about 5 hours including a lunch break and other stops. At the end of our little trek, there'll be an optional early dinner at a renowned pub in Jamaica Plain.
