About this event

Fire Island Watch Hill Camp Grounds:

   Friday, August 17 - Monday, August 2oth
Behind the dunes of the Atlantic lies the camp grounds.

Our group site is only a one minute walk to the beach.

The facilities include running water, grills, picnic tables,
showers and bathrooms. We’re located minutes from the

marina, visitor center, snack bar, Tiki bar and The Pier

Restaurant. There are a variety of things to do on & around

our site. Friendly dogs are permitted at no extra charge.

Our tents sit at the entrance to Otis Pike Wilderness reserve,

where you can explore miles of undeveloped beach, a natural

barrier island ecosystem, salt marsh nature trails, back-country

hiking, bird watching, 40-foot high dunes with roaming deer,

wildflowers, deer trails, old bones, and many natural seaside

artifacts all while savoring the solitude. It is one of the Nations

few federally designated oceanfront wilderness areas...

*

Fire Island Pines & Cherry Grove

The two largest gay resort destinations in the

world are a short, enjoyable  and fairly inexpensive

water taxi ride away.

*

The fee is $35.00 per night, with a 3-night minimum. Our stay

from Friday till Monday comes to $105.00. If we can get over

20 people it would be less than $5.00 per person, the cost for

transportation and food are extra...

As for cooking, it is best we do it as a group. Once we know

how many people are going we could make the necessary plans

for meal preps, grocery shopping etc..

I added a few links with details and photos.

We should plan two meeting places.
The first being in Manhattan at Penn Station
and the second being at the Ferry terminal in Patchogue. As the time draws closer we can work out the details.

With the trip being only a few days away,I have to assume that anyone that did not get back to me does not plan on going. With that being said I will be removing them from this sign up page...
