The trip report
A testosterone driven male bonding in the woods. Ten of us decided to do something different and out of our comfort zone.
We found paintball to be super exciting, fast paced with strategy and teamwork to stay alive! We went through four different courses. We were pirates on a ship, urban warfare specialists, cowboys in a western town, and guerilla mercenaries out in the woods.
Our referee was Freeman who explained the games and guided us through the different courses. He did a good job of observing and identifying KILLS.
We found paintball to be doable to all age, fitness and experience levels. It certainly was exciting with lots of adrenaline rushes and we would all do it again.
For a half day of fun it costs about $30 each including the tip to Freeman.

About this event
This will be so much fun in a group! This is an introductory paintball afternoon were we can all get to be GI Joe's! We will be doing this with OMG Paintball who provides us with everything we need to protect ourselves, gun, ammunition and a cute referee!
If we have at least 10 guys we can have our own private outing where we will combat each other using their course throughout the afternoon. The course includes Empire Castle, Pirate Ship, HALO Village, Urban Town, Sherwood Forest, James' Woods, Tombstone Western Town and Hamburger Hill. Each game lasts about 20 minutes. Groups of players rotate throughout the day and play on available fields.
The cost for a half day including all rental equipment, field fees and referee would be $15 person [100 paintballs]; you can purchase more paintballs and Co2 cartridges if necessary. The referee explains how to play the game and makes sure each game is played safely. The paintball breaks upon impact [at close range you may feel a slight sting] and does not stain clothing.
They indicated that a person would typically shoot 400-500 paintballs in an afternoon and recommended that each group of four people purchase and share a case of 2,000 paintballs to save money. A case is $70 and split between four people is less than $20. They also recommended that everyone pitch in and tip the referee. Your other option is to purchase a bag of 100 paintballs as you need them at $5 however you risk of running out during a game and unable to fill up until the next one starts. So the total cost may come around to $40.
It will be colder so dress in warm layers with long pants and long sleeves. They suggest wearing old clothes, sneakers and baseball cap/bandanna. Camouflage is a plus but not necessary. Wear clothing that blends in with the surroundings. In other words, leave your pink clothing at home...LOL! My hands get cold easy so I'll be bringing a pair of light fleece gloves. The paint will wash off your clothes and that includes fleece clothing. I suggest bringing some clean clothes to change into once we are done so you are not driving back home with paint on you. They do not have any changing facilities so you would have to change inside your car. Click Here For Their FAQ
There does not appear a need to wear a day pack and they sell water and snacks if needed. I guess the other option is just have a water bottle/snacks in your car.
They recommended that everyone have their waiver completed before showing up to speed the orientation process along. Click Here To Download Waiver.
Hopefully we'll start playing around 12:30pm and finish around 4:00pm.
We are completely new to this so don't let your lack of experience hesitate to join us. Our overall objective is just to have fun, try something new and make new friends!
