About this event
Let's try this again, hoping for better weather: Two miles of mountaintop resembling a large man lying in repose, the "Sleeping Giant" is a popular feature of the south central Connecticut skyline. Please join us for this early spring hike as we ascend via the "head" on a scenic trail which leads to the stone observation tower on the peak of Mt. Carmel, providing excellent views of Long Island Sound and the New Haven area. Then we'll head out along the ridge to a scenic lunch spot, returning via the White Trail for a total walk of 5-6 miles. Please wear sturdy hiking shoes/boots and bring a daypack with snacks, lunch, plenty of water and clothing layers according to the weather.
