HacklebarneyState Prk Hike/Brewery Lunch

We all met in the parking lot at the main entrance to Hacklebarney State Park. Picked up a map of trails, and one of our members who is a regular here led the way. We meandered up and down hills, across rivers and streams. We saw lots of spring poking up from the ground, even a few flowers. We also met lots of folks fishing in the swift running waters of the streams. The weather started off cool but quickly warmed up. After a couple hours of hiking and joining in on great conversation, we head back to the parking lot. From there we went to few miles up the road to a local brew pub for a wonderful light lunch, more great conversation and laughs. Afterwards, a few of us ended the day with a visit across the street at a local goat cheese farm. There we sampled cheeses, pet the animals, and made our purchases (wonderful cheeses!). It was a perfect day to spend with the guys, meet new GO members and try various new places. Thanks to the help of GO to bring it together.

Enjoy a spring day with a group of super nice guys by going on an easy hike through Hacklebarney State Park. We will take one of the trails for a couple hrs. From there we will change our hiking shoes and head on over to Long Valley Brewery Pub for a late lunch.

We will be meeting in the parking lot of Hacklebarney State Park at 11AM. From there we will pick a trail and leisurely hike it. Please dress for the weather as it may be chilly and at this time of year it may be a bit muddy. You may want to bring a change of shoes for lunch. Everyone is responsible for paying for their own meal, this includes tax and tip please (18 to 20% tip). If we are short on funds at the end of the meal everyone might chip in extra (lets not let this happen however). Please bring ones and fives to make change PLEASE!

If you're not up for the hike, when you RSVP on GO, please post a note to me or email me via GO that  you will only be joining us for lunch. Like wise, if you are only coming to hike and not joining in on the lunch please email me on GO or leave a note that you will not be joining us for lunch.  We DO NEED to know the total count for lunch as we must make reservations a week in advance for 4 or more people.!

After lunch, if you want to join me, I am heading up the road to the Goat Cheese farm (hoping they are open).

The pub menu runs from salads at $6-$9, to burgers/sandwiches $8-$10, to Entrees $15-$19, to pub light $8-$13 (then there is the brew  if you're up for that).
