About this event
Meet in Alexandria (My home) and car pool to Prince William Forest Park near Quantico Marine Base; which is about a 30-45 minute drive. (Hike start time at PWFP 9/9:30AM) The hike is mostly flat, but deceptive. Bring water and a light snack for the midway point. Approx. 4 hour hike once we arrive at Park and get started; however may eat in Quantico afterwards.
Prince William Forest Park is an oasis of natural beauty and human history located only 35 miles south of Washington, DC. 37 miles of hiking trails and 21 miles of bicycle-accessible roads and trails traverse this 15,000 acre piedmont forest. Beneath its canopy lies evidence of human history reaching back to 8,000 B.C.
