About this event

Join us for a civilized day in the country.&nbsp Meet at the Ayer MBTA parking lot (70 Main St Ayer, MA - near the T stop but not quite visible from that stop)&nbspat 12:15 pm.&nbsp We'll head over and greet anyone arriving on the 12:29 train ( the outbound saturday Fitchburg line at&nbsphttp://mbta.com )&nbspfrom Boston (leaves North Station or Porter Square- bikes allowed off-peak) and we'll take off from there not much later than 12:30.

The trail (&nbsphttp://www.mass.gov/dcr/parks/northeast/nash.htm&nbsp) is 22 miles round trip, up to the New Hampshire border and back, over mostly flat terrain (&nbsphttp://www.mass.gov/dcr/parks/images/nashCampMap.gif ).&nbsp Should be crisp and beautiful by that time.&nbsp&nbsp

Pack a sack lunch and we'll picnic after the bike ride at the home of host John Tyler.&nbsp&nbspThis is a late lunch, so breakfast accordingly.&nbsp
&nbsp
Then, lean your bike against a tree and join us for the curent exhibit at Groton School's de Menil Gallery&nbsp( http://www.groton.org/home/content.asp?id=813&nbsp) entitled &quotCrucible of American Modernism: The Provincetown Art Colony in the 20th Century.&quot
&nbsp
There are return trains (Ayer to Boston) at 3:04 pm and 5:54 pm.&nbsp The earlier train time might not allow for the Gallery visit.
