Camping, Hiking and Paddling Weekend

Camp, Paddle, & Hiking Weekend at Fish Creek Pond

Camping, Hiking and Paddling Weekend

Camp, Paddle, & Hiking Weekend at Fish Creek Pond

Details

Come for a weekend getaway to Fish Creek Pond -- considered the finest and most attractive of all the Adirondack campgrounds, Fish Creek Pond Campground offers a natural sand shoreline and water access for most campsites. The pristine rivers and ponds are accessible to both motorized and non-motorized boats. There is also great hiking nearby.

Come for the day or stay for the whole weekend. You can camp, paddle, or hike.

I’ll be out on the water paddleboarding all three days and will teach an introduction to paddleboarding on Saturday.

Bring your own gear or a SUP/canoe/kayak if you prefer. Rentals may be available — call ahead to confirm.

Geography:

Fish Creek Pond Campground is located in Adirondack Park.

Recreation:

Various canoe routes and boating opportunities exist; the waters are popular parts of the Adirondack canoe routes. Major species in Fish Creek, Square, and Rollins Ponds are black bass, northern pike, and pan fish. Upper Saranac Lake offers these species, plus lake trout and landlocked salmon. Black and Whey Ponds have brook and rainbow trout. Many miles of trails begin right from the campground, with an abundance of other hiking possibilities nearby. Two of the most popular are the Otter Hollow Loop and Floodwood Loop.

Facilities:

The campground has campsites, a picnic area, a beach, a playground, restrooms, a shower building, a trailer dumping station, a boat launch, hiking trails, summer recreation activities, and volleyball and basketball areas.

Hey there -- if two days is too much for you, just spend one night... AND if two days IS NOT enough for you, you are welcome to join me for more -- I am camping at Fish Creek Pond from May 26 through June 5!

So are people going to try and get sites near each other? Suggestion for a sites? I would want electric for my site, just makes things easier. Not familiar with the campground, so perhaps all electric. But perhaps you can update the event with more details. Would make sense we secure our own campsites.

Hey there -- I am at site: 035. Fish Creek Pond is an incredibly popular (if not the most popular) campground in the ADKs because almost every site has waterfront access. So take what you can get and we can coordinate from there. I suggest you make your reservation ASAP. There is no electric at this campground but generators are allowed. I have been going there for years now and it is amazing! AMAZING!

I just posted the exact same event weekend (camping, hiking, paddleboarding) at Lake Umbagog, which competes with Fish Creek Pond in my book. There is electricity at this campground (Lake Umbagog State Park), and it is small enough that pretty much everywhere is a great spot -- especially if you are planning to head out on the water frequently.

Yes, the pics are from Fish Creek Pond.

Scott, I'm late to seeing this, but looks very interesting. Do I need to reserve my own site or is yours shareable? Thanks
