Easy afternoon hike in the Middlesex Fells Reservation North of Boston A co-event with Chiltern Mountain Club (also LGBTQ), this will be an easy 2.5 mile hike @ 1:30pm (for us night owls). We’ll be going in from the West in Winchester at Gate 16. It’s less well known then the entrances near I-93, but it’ll be quieter and the parking looks more guaranteed. It’s mostly a loop on hiking trails, with parts on fire roads. Gaia says the elevation change is 77ft. If people want to go for a coffee afterwards there are places nearby in Winchester. Anything more then a drizzle will cancel. If there’s a rain date I’ll post it later. (Stay left entering the rotary but *quickly* move to the right as you cross over the highway. *Immediately* turn right onto South Border Road (it doesn’t have a big sign.)) >> From I-93 South take exit 24 and take the first right onto South Border.  >> Go 2 1/2 miles on South Border. You’ll pass other entrances and gates, but keep going. At the light turn right onto Highland Ave. Go .4 mile to the first right and turn onto Hillcrest (up the hill). Gate 16 is just up on the right, across from #74. I suspect the neighbors prefer Fells visitors park on the side of the street away from the houses.  Meet to the left of the gate.
