Wachusett Mountain

Wachusett Mountain

Details

Join us for an easy/moderate hike at Wachusett Mountain State Reservation in Princeton, MA.  This loop is 3.8 miles with 1,072’ of elevation gain.  It should take us about 2.5 hours to complete.

At 2,006’, Wachusett offers spectacular views of Mount Monadnock to the north, Mount Greylock to the west, and Boston to the east.  We will be leaving from the DCR Headquarters located at 345 Mountain Road, Princeton, MA 01541.

We will head south on Bicentennial Trail passing by Echo Lake.   As we move NW on Stage Coach Trail we will get a chance to see a wind farm built in 2009.  We will head to the summit via Harrington Trail/Mid-State Trail.  It is a little steep towards the top but worth the climb.  After a break at the observation tower for the views and some snacks, we will descend the Pine Hill Trail to the parking lot.

Below is a map of our hike.  Please remember to bring extra water, proper footwear, and a great attitude.
