Annual Bird Count at Camp Vitambi

Annual bird count

Annual Bird Count at Camp Vitambi

Annual bird count

Details

Each year Vitambi helps the Hendry County Audubon Society with its annual bird count.  You don't have to be an expert birder to help - in fact, you don't have to know anything but be willing to participate!  Vitambi is an oasis for wildlife surrounded by agricultural lands, the bird count on Vitambi is especially important to the Audubon statistics.

I will be there from Friday the 30th through Sunday the 1st.  Since it is the New Year's holiday lodging will be tight, but if you still tent you can set up anywhere you want.  You could even drive out for the day on Saturday, but we will start around 8:00.  It's best if you come Friday evening, as there will be an explanation of what we are trying to do, and dividing into groups for Saturday.  You can let me know if you're coming, or just show up.  It's fun, and you might even learn something!!

Vitambi is only 1 1/2 hours from Fort Lauderdale (and DO NOT SPEED through the Seminole Reservation, they will getcha).  Vitambi's website is  http://www.vitambi.com/    Check it out, they have a variety of accomodations, a restaurant and a bar.  Luxury outdoorsing. I will not ask for any money, but you will have to pay for lodging or a tent site.
