Mike’s 60th Birthday Potluck BBQ
Fireworks, campfire, beer, burgers and Potluck BBQ! Come celebrate Mike’s 60th Birthday at the GO Center during peak fall foliage!
Details
Mike has made some great outdoorzy buddies since he founded GayOutdoors 16 years ago. There are no better people that he would like to party with than with GO members! Come celebrate Mike’s 60th Birthday at the GO Center along the Mad River! It starts at 4:30pm and you can stay as late as you want.
It will be a great time with fireworks, campfire, beer, burgers, potluck dishes, and of course cake/ice cream in our yard. Our yard along the Mad River has a fantastic view of fall foliage colors! And we have a trail that will bring you down to the river if you want a closer view.
What to bring: We’ll have burgers with the fixings, beer while it lasts [we are pitching in a couple cases of beer] and cake/ice cream! Please bring
-
Side dish …preferably homemade and not packaged food from a grocery store. Don’t bring a dessert since we’ll be having cake.
-
Your own beer/wine since the beer we’ll provide won’t last long.
-
Folding chair since this will be an outdoor party in our yard.
What we would like to do is have some members step up and post outdoor activities of various levels around our house in Waterville Valley before the party in honor of Mike. Welsh/Dickey, Jennings Peak, Mt. Tecumseh and Mt. Osceola are some ideas. There are a number of easy hikes from within Waterville Valley such as the Scaur, Goodrich Rock and Cascade Trail. In the Lincoln area there is Lonesome Lake, Franconia Falls, Mt Liberty/Flume and the epic Mt. Lafayette/Lincoln. Taking a bike ride along Rt. 49 from Campton to Waterville Valley is also popular [nearby Ski Fanatics provides bike rentals]. And nearby Ski Fanatics rents kayaks and will shuttle you for a peaceful paddle on the Pemigewasset River. This is a great time of year for outdoor activities…cool weather and peak foliage!
Since this is an outdoor party, please note that the rain date for the event is the next day, Sunday. Most people have Monday off being Columbus Day holiday weekend.
Directions
We’ll provide directions to the GO Center a few days before the trip. Please park on the side of the road where we have our mailbox.
