Our destination, Little Jimmy, sits at 7,000' above sea level in the San Gabriel Mountains. Our campsite is set among pines with views toward the High Desert and boasts a year-round spring. Trails from our campsite ascend nearby peaks.

On Saturday, June 7, we'll hike about 3 miles and claim a campsite. Later, we'll explore this scenic slice of our local mountains, and perhaps summit nearby Mt. Islip. After breakfast Sunday morning, we'll climb another nearby peak before striking camp and heading home. 

Campers are responsible for their own provisions, including a bear-proof way to store food.June nights can be nippy at this elevation in The Gabbies, so be sure to pack some warm clothing. More information available upon request. This is a great adventure to folks new to backpacking. 

This trek is co-led with Great Outdoors. There is a $10 fee to cover the cost of the trip which can be collected at the trailhead.You'll be asked to complete a registration form.

We will gather Sat June 7th @ 10:30 AM at the Islip Saddle parking lot on the Angeles Crest Highway. This parking lot is about 41 miles from La Canada (the lot is on the left in a dip after the tunnel) You must display an Adventure Pass to avoid being ticketed.
