Hiking in the Grassy Waters Preserve

Details

We will be hiking the Apoxee Trail and part of the Owahee Trail in the Grassy Waters Preserve.  Serving as the freshwater supply for the city of West Palm Beach, Grassy Waters Preserve is a 23.5 square mile wetland that is also a remnant of the once great Everglades ecosystem. The hike is an easy to moderate 4.7 mie hike through restored wetlands hammock and pine flatwoods.  The trails consist of sand, mud, and boardwalks.  Some parts of the trail are prone to flooding.
