This is a nice Autumn hike/walk through the Frelinghuysen Arboretum in Morristown; plus a tour to nearby Acorn Hall. Additional information about Frelinghuysen Arboretum can be found at http://www.morrisparks.net/aspparks/frelarbmain.asp.
NOTE: This is a joint event with the Sundance group.
- Appox time hiking: 5 hours
- Terrain: Soft ground, sand, carriage trails
- Pace: Leisurely (nature walk)
- Equipment: Comfortable walking shoes, beverage, lunch, hat with visor. Note: We may go to a local food place for a quick lunch stop, depending on the time.
SAFETY
- Water Required: Bring at least enough to fill two cups.
- Food Required: Bring snacks and lunch. You may consider choosing a lunch which you won't have to worry about spoiling, in case we stop for a lunch at a local diner.
- Environmental Conditions: Non-steep terrain.
- Specialized clothing: Dress according to the warmth of that day.
- Sun protection: Probably won't need sunscreen but wear a hat with a visor in case there is a lot of sun glare.
- Weather: Heavy rain or snow cancels.

- Travel By: New Jersey Transit to Morristown New Jersey.
- Meet At: Morristown Station at 11 a.m. (22 Morris Street, Morristown, NJ 07960)
We will drive from the Morristown Station to Frelinghuysen Arboretum and Acorn Hall. Drivers: please let me know if you are willing to share your ride with the train-people.
- Costs: Roundtrip New Jersey Transit from New York Penn Central to Morristown is $26. Acorn Hall tour cost $6. There may be other costs associated with the arboretum.
