Mid-week Mt Monadnock hike

Mid-week Mt Monadnock Hike

Mid-week Mt Monadnock hike

Mid-week Mt Monadnock Hike

Details

Hike up the beautiful Pumpelly trail, the longest hike up the mountain, and with the fewest number of people on the trail.  The hike first traverses through the woods, originating on the shores of beautiful Dublin Lake, then rises steeply to the first crag, then on the long ridge to the summit, with gorgeous views in all directions.

Rest and lunch on/near the summit (based on wind conditions), then descend.

8 miles round trip, approximately 5 hours, 1800' elevation gain.

Optional Historic Harrisville visit afterwards.  30 minute walk/explore nearby historic and scenic town.

70% chance of rain the night before cancels.

(Please wait-list if you are interested.  I meant to set the max number of participants to 8).

Directions

Can rendez-vous in Harvard along Rte 2 at 8:00am, or meet at the trail head prompty at 9:30am.  To get to the trailhead,  Turn on East Lake Road from Main St (Rte 101). Trail head is on the left 1/2 mile from Main St.

Weather looks near perfect for tomorrow! Although breezy, which should translate to WINDY on the summit, so plan accordingly. Look forward to meeting you tomorrow. Eric, three of us will be driving together to meet you at the trail head. Look forward to meeting you all.

Marc
