Details
I have reserved group campsite #4 at Wilderness Cove Campground along the Green River for the weekend of Friday August 2nd thru Sunday August 4th. There is room for approximately 10 tents on the site which has power and water, along with multiple picnic tables and a large fire pit. I have gladly paid the $60.00 for the site for the weekend itself. however, there is still a $5.00 per person per night charge that each would be responsible for. The highlight of the weekend should be tubing the Green River on Saturday, which has been an absolute total blast on all past float trips. The campground offers 2 hour floats for $9.00, and 4 hour floats for $14.00, along with unlimited tubing and shuttle service offered for $2.00 more. The first runs on the river begin around 10:00AM, and the final runs quit departing our campground around 1:00-2:00 PM allowing a return to campsite by 5:00-6:00 PM. Wilderness Cove is also the starting place of at least three trails of the Green River Game Lands for us to explore also. Green River Cove trail is a 7 mile round trip trail taking you primarily along the river itself with too many stellar swimming holes to count and even a few rope swings. On that trail there is even a small swim in cave where a waterfall at the back is illuminated by the sunshine through a hole in the rocks above it- pretty fantastic place to hike and swim! The other trails take you through the unblazed wildlife conservation and management game lands themselves to a more hidden and somewhat forgotten area of trails for some rock-hopping and amazing swimming with many secluded waterfalls and more remote swimming holes to offer. For the more experienced rock-hoppers, one can continue even further to the base of a waterfall over 100 foot tall passing innumerable swimming hole options along the way. Hopefully, having all of the adventures beginning right from our drive-in campsite will allow more fellas to join in the fun and fellowship, and make sharing some fabulous food and drinks together an easier endeavor after a day of tubing, hiking, swimming, and sunning. While there is only room for 10 tents full of men to camp, there is unlimited number available for tubing together. Wilderness Cove even offers a $2.00 per tube discount on larger groups. If your unable to camp overnight, but able to come tubing or float, or only wish to come hiking with us, or even just have dinner in the woods nestled between a pond and the river with some nice guys- then please do come and enjoy whatever aspects of the weekend we can together! There are also available in the area zip-lining at TheGorge, and whitewater rafting along a different section of the Green River for those seeking more adrenaline. It is going to be a fantastic weekend and I look forward to seeing or meeting you all! Please sign up soon! C'ya, Chan
