Iron Mountain Hike - San Diego

Details
This is a great intermediate hike. All are welcome, but if you are very out of shape, I recommend training first. It's about 3-3.5 miles up each way. Really awesome views from the top of the whole valley. Up top, there are picnic tables so we'll stop to socialize and enjoy the view. Should take about 1.5 hours up. 1 hour down. We can get a beer afterwards.
Directions to start:
What to bring:
Bring smart shoes, tennis shoes or hiking boots. Trail is rocky.
At least 2 liters of water. Do not just bring a tiny water bottle. Be smart so you don't dehydrate.
More about the hike
This is a 6-mile round-trip hike with 1200 ft. elevation gain and pretty views of the ocean and mountains from the upper mountain. Picnic tables at the summit are a nice spot to relax, enjoy the view and have a snack. There are pretty wildflowers along the trail during the spring. Bring water as the temperature can get warm (especially in the afternoon) and keep an eye out for rattlesnakes.
Directions
Intersection of Poway Road & Hwy 67, Poway, CA
This site won't allow me to a link so just put that into your map search It's also in the activity details.
If you're late, we will leave.
