Join Neil and Ken for a road bicycle ride the day after Boston Pride. We'll begin at 11:00 and ride mostly the backroads of Concord and Carlisle. Total length will be 20-22 miles, and we will ride as a group. Lunch will be during the latter part of the ride, at the delightful Ferns Country Store in Carlisle Center. You can buy a sandwich/salad/soup there, or just buy a drink/dessert and eat your own lunch on the patio. Ride will end around 3 p.m., after which, if there's sufficient interest, we'll drive to nearby Walden Pond for a quick swim. Bring your road or hybrid bike, spare tube, helmet (required), sunscreen, water and snacks. If you're interested in the Walden sidetrip, bring a bathing suit and towel as well. Rain or threat of severe weather cancels.

Meeting place: Bedford Public Library parking lot, 7 Mudge Way, Bedford, MA 01730.

By car:
Take Rts. 4/225 west from 128/95 through Bedford Center. Just before Route 62 splits off to the left, you'll see the blue lights of the police station. Turn left on Mudge Way immediately after the police station, then then take your first RIGHT on Lilijegren Way to go behind (west of) the library.

By bike from the end of the Minuteman Trail in Bedford:
Turn right on South Road, then immediately left on Railroad Avenue. Follow RR Ave. as it veers right then left around the middle school. Turn right on the path as you approach the end, takng it through the town fields until it ends at Mudge Way. Follow Mudge Way to the library, and turn left to go behind the building.

Hello riders-

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow. We set out at 11, so please arrive by 10:45 latest. Don't forget snacks, water, helmet, etc. Walden Pond side trip may or may not happen, but bring bathing suit and towel if you're interested.
