Details
Weekend Car/Tent camping
Morrow Mountain State park is located adjacnt to Pee Dee river in Central North Carolina. The Campground is circled with multiple hiking trails. The Deer are amazingly tame and just wander around. The time of year day time is usually in the 50's and nights are expected to be in 30's. The State park campground is rustic, there is a bathhouse that does function. there are both primative campsites as well as sites with 30amp power. Water taps are scattered across the campground so be prepared to pack in either H20 or bring buckets to carry your water a few dozen yards.
expect a low key weekend. Campground is dog friendly as long as tethered. I am planning on utilizing Saturday morning and early afternoon to hike the trails and capture pictures with my DSLR. Currently I'm traveling solo and would welcome company. If 1, 2 or 12 people show up - it would be a good opportunity to meet new folks.
Directions
You can either pre-reserve a campsite at www.reserveamerica.com or just drive up to campground and find an unoccupied site. (this time of year the campground is usually empty.
the ranger will drive by and collect $$. I will have a black Jeep Wrangler and small- Red Teardrop sleeper trailer.
You can email me via this GO site and I'll give you my direct contact information. If I know you are coming, I'll choose a site that has vacancies around me.
