Cross Country Sking Prosepct Mountain
Cross Country Skiing at Prospect Mountain
Details
The only fee for this trip is the $22.00 trail fee for the day. There is also food to buy at the lodge if you don't want to bring your own food. If you don't have your own skies they are availbe there to rent for $20.00. I ski here all the time and it is my favorite place to go. There are 30 kilometers of trails to choose from at all different levels. Prospect use to be a down ski center. My usual loop is a series of trials that includes a section of the old down trials that is still maintained. We will go up and then down that trail. I was planning to ski for about 4 hours, but as a group we can decided how long we want to ski. If some don't want to go up and down the old down hill trail, we could probably work around that.
Directions
You can reach Prospect Mountain from all points west through Bennington, which is in the southwest corner of Vermont. Simply head east on Main Street which turns into Route 9. After climbing a looooong hill, you'll see Prospect on your right. From the east, take exit 2 off of I-91 in Brattleboro. Travel west on Route 9 towards Wilmington. Go straight through Wilmington and continue west on Route 9 for about 14 miles. Prospect Mountain Cross-Country Ski Center will be on your left.
