2nd Annual Delaware River Social Event

This social is a picnic at my house on the Delaware River in Pennsylvania.

Details

Many members come just to socialize. That's fine, but there are a number of things to do if you want to be more active. You can arrive as early as 11AM if you are doing an activity.

1. Swimming and/or tubing. Bring your bathing suit. If it's warm you may want to go for a dip in the river. I also can run a limited number of people up the river so you can tube back to the house. I have 8 tubes so let me know early if you're interested in that activity. (Note: footware is needed to go in the river as there are lots or river stones).

2. Kayaking/canoeing. There is a place nearby that rents kayaks and canoes or you can bring your own and go in the river at the ramp in Phillipsburg, NJ. This spot also has parking.

3. Biking/hiking. Bring you bike and ride the canal trail that goes right behind my house. Otherwise you might just want to go for a walk along the scenic canal.

I provide the grill, hamburgers, all beef hot dogs, water and diet soda. Food will be served at 1PM and 4PM.

You provide your own special food requirements and liquor. We would all appreciate it if you could bring a covered dish or some treat for the picnic.

Directions

Look for the intersection of Raubsville Rd and Rt 611 south of Easton, Pa. Canal Road is opposite Raubsville Road. GPS sometimes sends people the wrong way on Canal Rd which is one way going south. I'll give the exact house number to you when you sign up.

As always, e-mail me if you can't find it and I'll help you out.

Thanks again for another GREAT event! This is the second year we attended and, again, had a fantastic time. The weather turned out fine. We elected to go kayaking and it was great to finish off our trip, pull ashore, and arrive to an incredible spread of food brought and shared by everybody! -Thanks again to our host for sharing his home and time!
