Details

Come spend 4 days camped along the mighty Kern River in the Southern Sierras of Central California. Arrive on Thursday  June 7th. to set up camp and get to know your fellow camp and rafting mates. This trip will also be attended by members of Greatoutdoors, of which I too am a member. Greatoutdoors is a large gay outdoor adventure group located in southern and central California.

On Friday, June 8th. we'll hit the river with experienced river rafting guides provided by Whitewater Voyages. We'll start our day at about 7:00 am and finish off by late afternoon. Whitewater Voyages will also provide us with a deli-style lunch on the river midway through our adventure. We will experience the "BIG FIVE"  rapids known as "Suprise, Hari Kari, Horseshoe, Fluffy Bunny, Silver Staircase" and much more! This trip is primarily class IV rapids and can be done by most people in good health. Whitewater Voyages will be providing free wetsuits to all the rafters in case the water is a little chilly. We will cover about 12 miles of the Lower Kern River.

On Saturday we'll provide you with a breakfast  of pancakes with fruit toppings, eggs, juice and coffee. After breakfast  we'll carpool up the North Kern River for about an hour to the southernmost location of Giant Sequoia Redwoods for a day of hiking and exploring among the "Giants".

Sunday you can explore some more and then pack up and head for home. Please feel free to search "Kern River activities" on the web for more info. on many fun and exciting things to do in the area.
