Halfway Pond Hike

A 5-6 mile hike through the conservation lands around Halfway Pond

Details

Join me for a hike hrough the conservation lands around Halfway Pond in Plymouth. The pond is one of the largest in Massachusetts and has most of it's shoreline protected by large tracts of conservation land. The State recently bought and put into protection the lands on the ponds southern shore and along the Agawam River that flows from Halfway Pond. We will walk along trails, country roads, and cart paths as we travel through a number of different habitats, many of which are globally rare. After the hike we can go to Plymouth's harbor front for a bite to eat and to walk it's jetty.

I am having an increasingly growing problem of no shows with GO members. Please do not sign up for this event if you are not serious about attending. If you sign up but cannot make it, please remove yourself from the attendees list

Directions

We will meet at the entrance to Myles Standish State Forest on Long Pond Road in Plymouth and car pool down to the pond. Take Route 3 south to Exit 5, Long Pond Road. At the end of the ramp take a right and head south on Long Pond Road going past the Home Depot Plaze. Travel approximately 2.5-3 miles to the entrance of the forest on your right. I will be in a bronze Ford Ranger
