Rafting the Upper Gauley in WV

Whitewater Raft the Internationally famous Upper and Lower Gauley. Adventure, Awaken and Awe.

Details

Experience the West Virginia Gauley as one of the premiere whitewater rafting capitals of the world. In just 26 miles the Gauley River drops more than 668 feet and offers more than 100 heart-pounding, adventure-filled rapids.

The weekend of September 17th, I am planning a small group two-day rafting adventure to enjoy this river. On Saturday we will raft the very fun Lower Gauley. This will help acclimate us to rafting and our team. On Sunday we will tackle the challenging technical rapids of the famous Upper Gauley River. You will talk about rafting the Upper Gauley to your family and friends for years to come. I have accomplished it twice, so I know you can too. This trip is rated strenuous. Having a strong upper body and being able to swim are a must for this trip.

The cost is $410 per person and includes two days on the river, wetsuit gear, camp ground cost, two lunches on the river, one buffet dinner(Sat night), two breakfast buffets, WV DNR fees and sales tax. Cost can be lowered by brining your own food for breakfast and dinner and/or bringing your own wetsuit. Cost will be higher if you prefer to sleep in a local cottage or local hotel Friday and Saturday night, oppose to the campground. I will help you with all these arrangements so it’s not confusing.

A non refundable $100 deposit is required to book your place, with the remaining or full payment due Aug 10th. I am handling the money for the group, so please contact me regarding signing up. You will not be able to sign up by contacting the outfitter AceAdventures.

You must bring tents (if camping), water proof gloves and the expectation to experience the most incredible awakening experience of your life.

This trip will have friends who are gay friendly, but not gay. I have been down this river twice, it is an unbelievable experience, and I will be happy to answer any questions you have!
