Day in Poconos-Dingmans Falls/Rainbow Mt

Dingmans Falls Park hiking, return to Rainbow Mt. Gay Resort for lunch, relax by/swim in the pool.

Details
We're having a full fun filled day on August 20th, meeting at 9:30AM(SHARP!.) at Rainbow Mt. Resort (in the lower BIG parking lot). We will car pool from there to get to Dingmans Falls by 10AM and spend a couple hours hiking/touring (BRING your camera...these water falls make for great pics). From there we head back to Rainbow Mt. for lunch. Please bring cash (small bills if possible) to pay for your own food/drink plus tax and tip. I will reserve tables for our group. After lunch, we'll step down to the pool to swim and relax (Rainbow Mt. Resort charges $6/person for pool use, cash only.. they also have a little bar near the pool and have changing rooms there as well) After words, if you want to stay longer they have happy hour at the main bar & then later the night life begins at their dance club (Karaoke there is a blast!). Take a look at their website for details/times. If you want to stay over night (that is up to you but you don't have to of course), you'll have to call them directly to book a room. Do sign up however for this event asap so I can give them a head count for lunch. (check out their webstie for over night stay information) http://www.rainbowmountain.com/ . When you call, ask for Jayson & mention you are joining in on the Gayoutdoors.org group for Aug. 20th. I met with Jayson & they are thrilled we will be spending most of the day there, & maybe for some folks into the evening). The new management is making lots of wonderful s to the place, so you will def. enjoy your stay there. That evening of Aug. 20th they are having an Illumination Party (candle lit walk ways, black out at their night club w/glow stick necklaces/bracelets). During the day they also have paddle boats to take out on the pond, water volley ball, etc. NOTE: If looking around at other spots to stay, I have ONE WARNING....I DO NOT SUGGEST THE SUPER 8 Motel in that area, just off rte 80. We had some direct homophobic experiences there not to long ago (FROM THEIR STAFF).

If you are using your GPS, it will bring you in the back way (A.1., below). It may tell you that you are here when you are actually sitting in front of Foxwood Family Campground. You are on the right road (Mount Nebo), heading in the right direction, you just need to continue for another 2 miles (through one stop sign).
Longitude: -75.11078417301178; Latitude: 41.04389856609376 The map is a not-to-scale drawing of the final common pathway.
A. From Route 80, heading East or West:
1. THE BACK WAY (RED Route above) IS THE BEST WAY, TO AVOID MARSHALLS CREEK AND FLEA MARKET TRAFFIC: Take exit 309 (Marshalls Creek); the exit only lets you go one way, so follow the exit on to Route 209 North; you will immediately go through a traffic light; in 1 mile, you will come to a second traffic, where you turn right on to Buttermilk Falls Road; drive 1/2 mile up a small hill and a blue Rainbow Mountain Resort directional sign indicates where you should turn left on to Mount Nebo Road; carefully drive 3 and 1/2 winding miles (through one stop sign) and the Lobby is on the left.
