Welch-Dickey Loop

Enjoy the July 4th holiday weekend hiking the popular Welch-Dickey Loop.

Details
Please join me in hiking this very popular moderate to challenging 4.4 mile trail loop located at the gateway to the beautiful Waterville Valley area of New Hampshire. Your reward for making the 1,600 foot elevation climb will be excellent breath taking views. We'll meet at the trail head off Orris Road at 10:30 AM sharp. Bring lots of H2O, sunscreen and insect repellant. Include a brown bag lunch as we'll break for lunch when we reach the summit. RAIN CANCELS THE TRIP.
For those signed up for my kayak the Pemi River on Sunday, July 3, you may wish to consider spending the weekend at a local campground or motel. Contact me for suggestions.
Directions
Take I-93 to the Campton / Waterville Valley and get off at exit 28 and follow NH 49 thru Campton toward Waterville Valley. Four and a half miles beyond 175 in Campton, turn left (northwest) onto Upper Mad River Road (second intersection with this loop road) and cross the river. Follow this road for 0.7 miles then turn right onto Orris Road. The parking area is just 0.6 miles ahead.
Note: There is a WMNF parking fee.
