Biking at Harris Neck NWR, GA

Leisurely bike ride around the Harris Neck wilderness area.

Details
There are no mountains but the bike path is an old WW2 airstrip and calls for more rugged tires than a racing bike. The ride would be about 3 hours. Late April is the beginning of the bird migratory season and the quantity and variety of birds in the swamp is usually impressive. The quantity of gators is also impressive. Bring insect repellent, suntan lotion, water, and snacks. If you're a bird watcher, bring binoculars. Here's info about the park including directions. It's about 2 hrs from Jax, FL and 1 hr from Savannah, GA, so I'm thinking of a start time at the park entrance around 10am. http://www.fws.gov/harrisneck/ You may get a chance to see a painted bunting: http://audubon2.org/watchlist/viewSpecies.jsp?id=156
There are no fees charged to visit the refuge.
Directions
Harris Neck NWR is located in McIntosh County, Georgia, 5 miles north of Eulonia and 50 air miles south of the port city of Savannah. To reach Harris Neck, take Exit 67 off I-95 and travel south on U.S. 17 for approximately one mile, then east on Harris Neck Road for seven miles to the main entrance gate.
We will meet at the main entrance parking area.
If I recall correctly, there's about 10 parking spaces.
