Queer Loop-d-Loop

Approximately 6-mile hike on small mountains with big views.

Details
This hike combines the Ann Stokes Loop, named after a local lesbian, with the Daniels Mountain Loop, which takes us to Moon Ledge, named after the bare butts of 2 gay guys (story to be told on location), and includes a side trip to Mine Ledge. The total distance is about 6 miles and the highest elevation gain is about 600 ft. - but there are several ups and downs. We'll stop at one of the many viewpoints for lunch, and should be done by about 3:00, depending on the group's pace and the length of stops.
We'll meet at the Madame Sherri Forest parking area and hike the Ann Stokes Loop up to Indian Pond, from which we'll take a side hike up to Mine Ledge on Mt. Wantastiquet - where there are views south down the Connecticut River valley as well as east and west. Back at the pond, we'll continue the loop up over East Hill (more views) and down to the junction with the Daniels Mountain Loop. We'll head up Daniels Mountain from the north, over the wooded summit and south to Moon Ledge (more views!), continue the loop back to the junction with the Ann Stokes Loop, and head back to the trailhead.
Directions
The trailhead is in Chesterfield, in southwest NH, just across the Connecticut River from Brattleeboro, VT. If you're coming on I-91 from the north or south, get off at Exit 3, go half-way around the roundabout, and take Rt. 9 east over the bridge into NH. Only about 100 ft. after you cross the bridge, take the 1st right onto Mountain Rd. If you're coming west on Rt. 9 from Keene, NH, Mountain Rd. will be on your left just before you get to the bridge over the Connecticut. Go about 100 ft. on Mountain Rd. and take a left on Gulf Rd. - a narrow, winding dirt road. In about 2 miles, the parking area for Madame Sherri Forest will be on your right, across from a dirt road to the left. There's a red gate and a sign. NOTE: DO NOT USE GOOGLE MAPS to find Gulf Rd. - they have it mislabeled and misplaced in several sectiions. Mapquest seems to be accurate.
Please plan to arrive at the trailhead before 10:30, so that we can leave on time. DON'T FORGET: THIS IS THE DAY THAT DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME ENDS - so set your clocks back 1 hour or youi'll be waiting a long time for the rest of us to arrive!
