Mount Cabot NH Peak Bag

Celebrate 4th of July by grabbing the northernmost New Hampshire 4,000 footer, Mount Cabot (4170 feet).

Details

Mount Cabot is the northernmost of the 48 4,000 footers. At 4170 feet, it is not as strenuous as many of the bigger mountains but still a good 12.8 mile challenge. We'll take Unknown Pond Trail to the Unknown Pond. Then we'll take the Kilkenney Ridge Trail over The Horn - which offers a nice view - and The Bulge before reaching the summit of Cabot. On the summit of Cabot, we'll check out the Cabot Cabin.

This day hike will take 6-8 hours and will require a day pack with lunch, snacks, raingear, and plenty of water. Please join me as I bag my 46th 4,000 footer on out-of-the-way Cabot.

Directions

We will meet at 9 am at the Cumberland Farms at 60 Main Street in Gorham NH. It is at the intersection of Route 16 and 2. We'll then caravan together to the trailhead outside of nearby Berlin, NH. Look for me and my grey Mazda.
