Old Farms and Barns in SE New Hampshire

45-mile road bike ride loop on mostly quite roads through historic farmhouses and scenic vistas

Details

Leader: This is the last one of the 4 bike rides that I'm leading with Brian Rogers in the MA North Shore and the NH Seacoast region. I've done mine before as a member of a local cycling club and, if there is enough interest, I would like to do variations of those routes in the spring and the summer on a recurrent weekly basis in preparation for the Harbor to the Bay Boston-Provincetown benefit ride.

What to expect: 45 miles of mostly flat terrain, but also some rolling hills passing through the towns of South Hampton, Newton, Kingston, Exeter, and Newfields, looping back through Kensington and Amesbury. This is another NSC Sunday classic and it is also lightly arrowed. Detours to shorten or lengthen the ride are available.

What to bring:

- road bike highly recommended so that we can average ~12 miles/hour.

- helmet and preferably two water bottles.

- power bar/snacks.

- some cash (farm stands and ice-cream places make good stops).

Rain cancels the ride.

NOTE: Those interested in joining me on impromptu after-work training rides, let me know privately.
