Join me for a 6-8 mile hike on the cart paths and trails of Northwest Rhode Island. We will venture north from the George Washington Camping Area in Glouster Rhode Island to explore this remote area, much of it protected lands. The woods of this area can be challenging and rugged. We will head off with topo maps and compass and discover our route as we go along. We will use parts of the Walkabout and North-South Trail. This is a great time of year to see spring wildflowers. The streams and ponds of the area should be coming alive and we will try to find some of the areas many ledges to explore. Bring footwear that can get wet.

We will meet up at the lakeside Cabin Hall at the George Washington Camping Area on Route 44, Glouster RI.  Route 44 in Rhode Island is accessible from Route 295, Smithfield RI if your coming from the East or Route 395, Putnam, CT if your coming from the west. Drive time from the Boston Area is approximately 1 1/2 hours.
