<p>Join us for this mid-morning hike on Soapstone Mountain in Somers. This 4-mile hike will not likely take more than two hours; you'll have time for other holiday activities and parties later that day. </p>
Details
We'll take Shenipsit Trail which heads toward the peak of Soapstone Mountain - a good steady climb to the observation tower.
NOTE: In the event of severe weather, hike will be rescheduled to a later date to be announced.
Allow up to 2 hours for this 4-mile hike. We'll take Shenpisit Trail to the peak of the mountain - a good steady climb to the observation tower.
In case of severe weather, hike will be reschedule to a later date to be determined.
Directions:
From the junction of CT 140 and CT 83,
drive north on CT 83 for 4 miles to Park Road and turn right.
After 1.3 miles (the last .4 mile is rough, three-season dirt road),
at a four-way junction w/ Soapstone Road and Sykes Road,
park across teh way to your left.
My car is a red Ford Focus hatchback.
