Georgia AT Backpack

Backpack the AT from Woody Gap to Neels Gap

Details

Overnight backpack from Woody Gap over Blood Mtn ending at Neels Gap. Total distance is ~10 miles with ~1700 feet of elevation change. A November hike should provide nice warm days (60's) and crisp evenings (40's-50's) making for perfect Georgia backpacking weather (but anything is possible this time of year). We'll meet at the Woody Gap trailhead off Hwy 60 early on Saturday morning, hike to Slaughter Creek and set up camp. We'll get up on Sunday and tackle Blood Mountain and finish at our shuttle vehicle at Neels Gap after a quick stop at the Walasi Yi Center . If you are interested in this trip please drop me an email through the site where we'll discuss logistics such as meeting time, place, ect......
